Neograft™ Automated Hair Transplant Procedure
If you’ve experienced dissatisfaction from previous hair transplant procedures, we encourage you to explore our ARTAS or NeoGraft systems. Our NeoGraft system makes choosing follicular units for transplantation a swift process for our physicians, which in turn considerably shortens the patient’s procedure and recovery times.
A mechanical device designed to enhance physician speed and efficiency in incising and extracting follicular units (FU’s), NeoGraft is the trade name for a mechanized device that provides a rotating sharp punch to incise the FU’s and gently rotate around each individual graft.
As the rotational speed can be adjusted to accommodate all skin types, this process for hair transplant offers minimal discomfort, making the healing process that much faster.
NeoGraft, much like the ARTAS System, is the term for the tool used to make the physicians work that much more effective; however, it does not guarantee the work of the physician. For that, you need experience, something that Dr. Colin Hong’s clinic has in abundance. Our physicians have years of experience with NeoGraft making them leaders within the hair restoration industry.
WHAT CAN NEOGRAFT DO FOR PATIENTS?
By making it easier for physicians to extract viable follicle units, NeoGraft has revolutionized hair transplant procedures that make for successful alopecia restoration patients.
- Zero sutures, linear scars, or scalpel incisions
- Quick recovery time
- Faster and more accurate harvesting of hair follicles ensures successful transplants
- Patients reach their growth goals in less time and with less procedures
WHAT IS THE NEOGRAFT PROCEDURE?
An advanced technique in hair transplant technology, NeoGraft makes it possible to experience high-quality follicle growth with minimal risk of complications and zero scalpel incisions, scars, or sutures.
PHASE ONE: PRE-SURGICAL
The NeoGraft process is very similar to our ARTAS and FUE procedures. We begin by giving the patient a mild tranquilizer, either orally (Ativan) or intravenously (Versed), to minimize anxiety, reduce discomfort, and help to prevent, or decrease, any side effects that the anesthetic may cause.
Then, we clip the patient’s hair in the donor area to create a sizeable strip of clipped follicles. If the hair in the donor area is left 1 to 2 inches long, the hair above the donor site should completely mask this area immediately after the procedure.
PHASE TWO: SURGICAL
Next, we anesthetize the donor area and the patient with a local anesthetic using a very small gauge needle (typically a 30 gauge, a needle smaller than most acupuncture needles). This is the only uncomfortable part of this procedure. But, for patients who are wary of needles, we can provide an inhalational anesthetic to provide zero pain.
Once the anesthetic has taken effect, our technicians use our NeoGraft System to begin extracting ideal follicle specimens for transplantation. NeoGraft allows us to harvest hair follicles much faster and more efficiently while still using the FUE method, which significantly lowers the cost of the hair transplant surgery.
The NeoGraft hair restoration system, while keeping costs low, also decreases the time required for surgery due to the precision that our physicians achieve with the system. And because NeoGraft causes less damage to hair follicles, patients have a decreased chance for unsuccessful transplants, requiring fewer procedures in the future!
PHASE THREE: HEALING
The healing process for a NeoGraft procedure is very similar to our ARTAS procedure. The recovery from a NeoGraft robotic hair transplant requires much less time than with most surgical transplant procedures since it requires no surgical incisions or stitches for the procedure, healing time is extremely fast, typically lasting two or three days.
